WHAT YOU'LL LEARNINTRODUCTION TO WINDSURFING We will start by learning the components that make up the board and sail (rig). Then we will discuss wind theory. For the next half hour we will be on a land simulator. The simulator, which is very stable, allows us to teach you proper technique while eliminating the falling factor. During this portion you will learn posture, uphauling the sail, steering, and tacking. Once you are handling these techniques on land, we will move to the water. After an hour on the water, most people are comfortable uphauling the sail, sailing across the wind, tacking and returning to the beach. We finish the program with self rescue technique. ADVANCED LESSONS These lessons are usually one on one unless you bring a friend who is at or close to the same ability level. Techniques taught include beach starts, harnessing, jibing, footstraps, and waterstarts. |
